A New Future Imagined is a Story Mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This is one of the "Main Quests" of the game and players must complete it to advance the Story. Completing Story Missions opens up Stranger Missions as well as additional content throughout the game.

John and Abigail go to Blackwater for some alone time together. John wants to ask her something.

Young Love
John Marston (you) walks into Uncle and Abigail Marston arguing. She leaves the room and you two talk outside, as you convince her that keeping Uncle around is a good idea. Just as the conversation is ending, a wagon rocks up at your doorstep; it's none other than Duncan Geddes and Angus Geddes bringing some housewarming presents from their father.
Delighted, you both plan a spontaneous date to Blackwater. You drive in a wagon, and on the way speak about the things you'll do when you reach the town. Upon arriving, Abigail will head to the drapers for a second while you stand around and look at the ring and picture Arthur Morgan left you. When she gets back, you charm her all the way to the Photographer's.
Portrait
When you arrive, the Photographer will have you choose a backdrop for your portrait. Afterwards, you get to choose your pose and once you're happy with both, take the picture! While the portrait gets developed, you both have a laugh and you collect the picture and leave.
Theater
After you leave the Photographers. Abigail will mention that she's never been to a Movie Theater. You're about to change that and you both head to the theater to watch "Sketching for Sweetheart". Once you start watching it, you can leave whenever or wait for the show to end. Once you leave, you suggest heading down to the lake.
Proposal
Head towards the lake and a cinematic will take over. When you walk a bit further down, it will cut away and show you and Abigail on a rowboat. When you assume control, row the boat out to the area of interest. Once you arrive, target Abigail and Propose. You will propose and she'll say yes and after you kiss, the screen fades to black and you wake up the next day in bed.
You kiss your missus before you leave the house and in a cinematic showing, you walk into the sunrise. You see lean on the fence of your ranch before the mission ends.
