Paradise Mercifully Departed Walkthrough
Oh Captain, My Captain
Arthur Morgan (you), Dutch Van Der Linde, Javier Escuella, Bill Williamson, and Hercule, all wait for Micah Bell by the boat they are supposed to take out. Micah returns with some bad news that the Captain has been taken hostage by Alberto Fussar and they plan to destroy the boat as soon as they set sail. So in traditional Van Der Linde fashion, Micah suggests a plan to rescue the captain and destroy their artillery.
While Bill guards the boat and Javier, the rest of you follow Hercule's lead. You come at a stop, and Micah tells you to take care of the first guard. Stealth kill him, and after Micah takes care of the other, plant the first set of explosives on one of the cannons. Micah ignites the dynamite and you both run out of the explosion radius, and behind cover ready to attack the oncoming guards.
Kill the first one above, then proceed to deal with the few through the corridor. When you come out, follow the rest of the squad and kill the soldiers in front of you. Hercule will ask you to secure the top and once you do, the rest of your squad will come up and Dutch will ask you to take position with him behind some short broken walls. From here, defend against the wave of soldiers emerging from the sugar fields, while Micah sets the charges on another set of cannons.
Search & Extract
Once he sets and blows it, he'll rejoin you and point you in the direction of the captive captain. Kill all remaining soldiers in this small outpost and once they're all dead, check the cabin highlighted with an area of interest on the map.
When you enter, the boat captain will be on the floor in the middle of the room, and you'll be ambushed by Levi but Dutch will enter just in time to have a stand off with him. After a bit of dialogue, Fussar walks in with a gun too. Now you've got your weapon up too and find yourself in a 2-on-2 stand off. You can look between everyone in the stand off as some conversation is exchanged, but you'll eventually be able to look at the captain on the floor and kick the rifle you dropped in the fight earlier on the floor. You will be able to kick the rifle at him, and he will shoot Levi. Fussar will escape by jumping through the window as Dutch will turn into a stormtrooper and miss all his shots at him.
The captain thanks you for your help and hands you back your rifle. Head back out to return to the boat. However you will be ambushed by more soldiers ahead of you. Shoot your way through and continue to follow your squad until you reach some ruins. Here you'll find Fussar on top of a tower, shooting at you with a cannon. Kill the few remaining men standing between him and the other cannon on the floor, then head for the cannon and use it to blow Fussar up, once and for good.
Return of the Prodigal Sons
A cutscene shows everyone return to the boat and get ready to set sail. Dutch will thank Hercule and you'll be on your way. The next day you'll be on the boat discussing the plan when you get off. You'll be instructed to head to Shady Belle to continue to the next mission, Dear Uncle Tacitus.
