Pouring Forth Oil – II is a Story Mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This is one of the "Main Quests" of the game and players must complete it to advance the Story. Completing Story Missions opens up Stranger Missions as well as additional content throughout the game.

Stealing Oil
Arthur Morgan (you) speaks to John Marston at the camp, and John brings up the train robbery the girls were talking about. He thinks of a plan to make it easier to rob the train, and tells you to set it up. There are now two Cornwall Oil Wagons highlighted on the map, one in Valentine, the other at the Cornwall Kerosene & Tar facility in the Heartlands Oil Fields. You need to steal one of them as part of the plan. The easier option is Valentine, however it may be harder to manage as the tank can make sharp turns difficult.
Once you enter find whichever wagon you're going to steal, outrun and gun the guards that chase you until there's none left, then take it to the point of interest on the map south of Emerald Ranch. From here, you can use the Stable to recover one of your horses.
Pour Forth Oil – III
Return to camp to interact with John again, this time to let him know that you've placed the wagon at the agreed drop off point, he takes Charles Smith to pick up the wagon and set it up.
