The Delights of Van Horn is a Story Mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This is one of the "Main Quests" of the game and players must complete it to advance the Story. Completing Story Missions opens up Stranger Missions as well as additional content throughout the game.

Set Up The Ambush With Bill
To start this mission, head over to the old house at Van Horn Trading Post and meet Micah and Bill as mentioned at the end of Just a Social Call. A cutscene triggers where the three talks about a plan to create a diversion which includes Arthur (you) and Bill to rob a stagecoach full of explosives while Micah, deals with his "own plans".

Mount your horse and follow Bill as you make your way to Van Horn - on the way, Bill spots a few Pinkerton patrols, but you will be able to avoid them. After you've reached the destination, unmount your horse and approach Bill to trigger a short cutscene where Arthur convinces Bill to play dead, while you get in position towards the abandoned house for the ambush.
Make your way to the second floor of the house and wait for Bill to initiate the attack before you start shooting. Once you've eliminated the enemies, quickly leave the house and get in the wagon with Bill - leave Van Horn and head back to camp.
Steal The Wagon With Explosives
As Arthur (you) and Bill head back to camp, a group of men in horses will pursue you - make sure to use Dead-Eye wisely as the enemies will be coming in multiple directions.
Trigger Dead-Eye to give yourself a bigger window to aim before they shoot the explosives on the wagon.
Once you've eliminated most of the enemies, you and Bill will start talking - follow the yellow dot on your mini-map where you will meet up with Micah and John that triggers another cutscene.
Micah instructs John to set the dynamite wagon at Bacchus Bridge and tells Arthur it's best to help John since it's a two man job. The mission won't be available for some time, however, Bacchus Bridge is located right next to Rains Fall.
This marks the completion of the mission for you to continue on Archeology for Beginners.
