A New Jerusalem is a Story Mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This is one of the "Main Quests" of the game and players must complete it to advance the Story. Completing Story Missions opens up Stranger Missions as well as additional content throughout the game.

Marston the Carpenter
John Marston (you) speaks to Uncle about putting all the pre-cut pieces together to build the house. Uncle weasels his way out of doing any hard labor but offers his help in other ways, and Charles Smith joins in to help you as well. What follows is a long interactive cinematic which shows the three of you working on the house.
At different points, you'll be required to follow the onscreen instructions to complete different tasks in order to complete your renovation. Tasks such as carrying wooden planks, hammering nails, lifting frames, etc. This will continue for days until you finally complete the renovation and have yourself a brand new, pre-cut house. By the end of it, you offer Uncle and Charles Smith a place to stay, then proceed to write a letter to Abigail Marston to let her know of your efforts to secure the life she wanted.
The screen fades, and after a "A few days later" title card appears, you're seen looking for Uncle outside the house.
Notes & Tips
- During the flashbacks, John's appearance is fixed and doesn't match the player's choices of beard and clothes.
