The Fine Art of Conversation Walkthrough

A Truce Between Colonel Favours and Rains Fall?

After helping Captain Monroe retrieve the vaccines, Arthur Morgan (you) makes his way back to Beaver Hollow in Annesburg, approach Josiah Trelawny to start the mission - a cutscene will follow where Josiah bids goodbye to Arthur. Once Josiah leaves, you will be approached by Charles and Rains Fall who asks for one last request to join them in meeting Colonel Favours. Rains Fall mentions that the chances for the Colonel to lie will be reduced and the peace will be kept if Arthur (you) accompanies them.

Arthur, who later disagrees will eventually join after Charles stresses out that he saved his life - mount your horse and follow the two to Colonel Favours. Once you've arrived, you'll find a camp where Colonel Favours and his soldiers are waiting together with Captain Monroe. Arthur then will start to cough uncontrollably and the Colonel will have you escorted to a tent so you won't disturb the meeting.

Once you're in the tent, peek out the other end where you will find two soldiers talk about Colonel Favours' plan to have Captain Monroe arrested and hanged for treason.

Escape The Camp Alive

After learning about the Colonel's plan, Arthur (you) will return back to the table where Rains Fall and the Colonel finish their conversation. The Colonel will then instruct his soldiers to arrest Monroe but Arthur grabs a nearby guard, takes him hostage and tells Monroe to leave with them. Once Monroe joins in, slowly return back to your horse with the hostage - release the man, and prepare to escape on horseback.

While escaping, you will have to kill the pursuing soldiers on horseback. Eventually, Monroe's horse will be shot prompting Arthur (you) to run to his aid - remember to keep an eye on your mini-map to anticipate the enemy movement as you will be surrounded.

Once you've cleared out the enemies, mount your horse and wait for Captain Monroe to join in - follow Charles to the station while eliminating the remaining pursuers. As you make your way, Arthur tells Monroe about Colonel Favours' plan to have him hanged and that he doesn't deserve to die under the hands of those men.

A cutscene will start once you've arrived at the station where Arthur then gives Monroe cash and instructs him to escape - you will also see Reverend Swanson at the station who is also on the run.

Up next, Goodbye, Dear Friend.

I didn't encounter Reverend Swanson. It was a nun from Saint Denis (who is leaving to go to Mexico for a mission) whom Arthur had a heartfelt conversation.
