A Short Walk in a Pretty Town is a Story Mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This is one of the "Main Quests" of the game and players must complete it to advance the Story. Completing Story Missions opens up Stranger Missions as well as additional content throughout the game.

Arthur, Micah, Bill and Sean go to meet some of the Gray boys in Rhodes to discuss a security job.

Trust Your Gut
Arthur Morgan (you) meet Bill Williamson, Micah Bell, and Sean Mcguire outside the bank at Rhodes. They tell you that the Grays are hosting a meeting for a security job, and as you walk along the street, you get a bad feeling. When you say so, Sean agrees with you before getting shot straight through the head.
Every Last One of Them
After Sean's death, you all take cover and fight your way through the oncoming Grays. Kill them as Micah tries to enter the gunstore to take cover there. Just outside it, you'll see a weapon icon on the map. This points to a Double-Barreled Shotgun with explosive shells. Pick it up and continue to cover Micah.
You'll notice Bill's disappearance as you kill off the last of the Grays. You walk over to the Sheriff's Office to confront Sheriff Gray and after a lengthy scolding, he emerges with 3 other deputies holding Bill hostage. Use your Dead-Eye to obliterate them.
After you save Bill, you pick up Sean's body and mount him on Bill's horse while arguing with Micah. You tell Bill to bury him somewhere decent and you ride away.
You narrate your Journal Entry about Sean's passing and you assume control of Arthur in a field.
