The Battle of Shady Belle is a Story Mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This is one of the "Main Quests" of the game and players must complete it to advance the Story. Completing Story Missions opens up Stranger Missions as well as additional content throughout the game.

John and Arthur clear out the last remaining Lemoyne Raiders from Shady Belle before the gang relocate their caravan.

A Solution
Arthur Morgan (you) is back at camp speaking with Dutch Van Der Linde, Hosea Matthews, and John Marston about Jack Marston's whereabouts when Agents Andrew Milton and Edgar Ross enter the camp. They propose Dutch goes in quietly in exchange for the freedom of everyone else but are promptly rejected. They leave with the promise of returning with 50 men and killing everyone. They leave and you tell Dutch about the abandoned mansion you found with Lenny at Shady Belle. He asks you to check it out with John so they can all move there to buy them a few days to avoid the Pinkertons.
You ride out with John, where we speaks more about Jack and begins questioning Dutch's mindset. Once you arrive at Shady Belle. You find a small group of Lemoyne Raiders still inhabiting the place, so you get to work on taking them out. There should be a total of 4 inside the house. Clear it out and when you do, bring a body out to dump it in the nearby lagoon. As you instruct John to guide the rest of the camp over, you go back in to dump one more of the bodies, to prepare the house for the gang. It cuts to their arrival and after showing his satisfaction of the place, Dutch asks John to ride out with him to Saint Denis.

Upon arriving, the "Chapter 4 - Saint Denis" cue card enters and you and Dutch decide to split up to follow any leads on Jack.
